Discharge Printing Process

The Discharge Printing Process is slowly taking over the world of screen printing. Everywhere you look you will see a printing store. Discharge Printing Process

One of our new services we can offer you is discharge printing. If you don’t know what that is I will tell you a little bit about the discharge printing process. Basically, instead of the print sitting on top of the shirts it will remove the dye of the shirt. This will produce a much softer print than using plastisol ink. Now to add color to the discharge printing process is a simple feat. All that we would need to do is add whatever color you want as an additive to the discharge inks. Once we have all of that completed, discharge printing is pretty much the same as normal screen printing, just with a different set of ink mixtures. Using the discharge printing process, you can get a finer amount of detail with the print because it is lighter ink that will be used. Discharge printing works very well on black and some other dark colored shirts.

As most of you already know, hockey season is well under way! If you’re like me and your life revolves around hockey or any sports for that matter, then I need to let you in a little secret. I get all of my game day jersey attire at AMBRO Manufacturing. They actually do my entire custom screen printing. They have been reliable since day one! Before I became a member of their work force, I was coming to them with all my sporting needs. I took my teams name and had it screen printed on the back. I used a glitter ink to give it a super girly look. The choices of ink color are incredible by the way. You could go for a raised look and have puff added to any ink color if you wanted. I even had them apply vinyl to front to make my game day jersey even more unique.

I had AMBRO Manufacturing create multiple jerseys so I could give them out as Christmas presents for my other friends who are hockey fanatics. AMBRO Manufacturing is a specialty contract screen printing company that specializes in Jumbo Screen Printing. Often called All Over Shirt Printing, Large Format Screen Printing, Over Sized Screen Printing or a variety of other suitable descriptions, Jumbo Screen Printing on the entire surface area of a T-Shirt, from seam to seam, shoulder to waist and on the neck.

Jumbo Screen Printing

Most standard screen printing presses offer a maximum of a 14” x 16” print area. This type of print area is perfect any T-Shirt. However, when artists and fashion designers begin offering T-Shirts with prints that completely cover the surface area of the front and back of a T-Shirt, these small screen sizes won’t do the job.

There is no governing body in the screen printing industry that defines what Jumbo Screen Printing actually means. As a result, providers across the country make claims of Jumbo Screen Printing and they can’t always provide the level of print that is expected by their customers.

Some screen printers that don’t have Jumbo Screen Printing equipment will “seam” together two prints to give the illusion of an all over print. Even with manual alignment, seaming always leaves a noticeable seam area.

In order to truly get an all over screen print, specialized screens, pallets and presses must be used.

AMBRO Manufacturing defines “Jumbo” as anything starting with 40” x 40” of print area, we calculate not the size of the frame, but the actual size of the printable area. Large format screen printing is a specialty that few screen printers offer.
