4 Color Screen Printing

Custom screen printing can be a quick and easy way to put designs onto a garment, but often you’ll see screen printed garments that contain flat areas of color.  The reason for this is because screen printing requires the use of silk screens to apply custom designs and each screen can only apply one color at a time.  Essentially, the artwork must be separated into areas of colors that are the same.  For every color you want to feature in your design, you’ll need a new screen that contains only that color information; so you can see how there are some imitations to the amount of colors you can get in a screen print.  Although, with 4 color screen printing, you can build more colors by just using different values of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black ink.

4 Color Screen Printing

4 color screen printing works because with the right amounts each color, the ink will appear to be the target color to the eye.  This method is the perfect way to get more colors from your screen printing without racking up the screen count!  If you are in need of a printing company capable of 4 color screen printing, you needn’t look any further because we here at AMBRO Manufacturing can do just that.  We are a contract screen printing, embroidery, and sublimation company based in Flemington, NJ.

4 color Process Screen printing is an awesome screen printing process. When doing a four color process screen printing job it is done pretty much just like your basic printer. With 4 color process screen printing you will use your basic color the CMYK colors. C for Cyan, M for Magenta, Y for Yellow, and K for Black. With these four colors you can create a whole array of colors by mixing the proper colors and percentages together. Just like a printer would do when printing an image onto a piece of paper but it is a little more difficult with a t-shirt because the t-shirt can move.

One of the most impressive and interesting types of garment printing is the process of 4 Color Process Screen Printing.  Using this process, custom screen printing companies that specialize in 4 Color Process Screen Printing can produce amazing multi-color designs with only four base colors.

4 Color Process Screen Printing

The secret to successful 4 Color Process Screen Printing is in the artwork, the color separations of the artwork,  the type of translucent inks that you use and the sequence that they are placed on the garment.

That’s right, 4 Color Process Printing is not for the faint at heart.  If your screen printing company is not familiar with using 4 Color Process Screen Printing, you may want to consider working with one that has experience.

One of the questions that I get asked quite regularly is … Can you offer 4 Color Process Screen Printing on dark garments.  The answer is … drum roll … yes, but it’s a really delicate process and requires your patience and understanding.

What I mean by that is that 4 Color Process Screen Printing on Black garments or dark garments can’t be rushed.  There is a lot of color separation and sequencing that needs to be done and many test strikes to get the registration just right.

As an expert in 4 Color Process Screen Printing, AMBRO Manufacturing knows what needs to be done to have your print looking fantastic no matter what color garment you decide to print on.

If traditional 4 Color Process doesn’t work for your project, then simulated 4 Color Process Printing may be a better option.  Working with one of our screen printing consultants, we can assist you in selecting the best approach for success with your project.

4 Color Process Screen Printing

The process of 4 Color Process Screen Printing is complex and requires significant expertise and know how.  Using CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black) T-Shirt designers can create a virtually unlimited number of basic colors.

The process of 4 Color Process Screen Printing involves specialized opaque inks and a white underbase to achieve any color desired.  Some colors like metallics or neons are not part of the standard CMYK color spectrum and can’t be produced without extra screen printing plates and dedicated inks, but the vast majority of desired colors can be achieved.

Setting up for a 4 Color Process Screen Printing takes a decent amount of work, requires precise screen registrations and the proper sequence of inks being printed.  Since the inks are opaque, it does matter which order the colors are printed in.

Achieving amazing color prints on fabrics can be accomplished in a variety of ways but the most cost effective method for achieving these results is 4 Color Process Screen Printing.  Custom Dye Sublimation can be used as well, but fabric selection then becomes important.

As an experienced garment, fabric and textile printer, AMBRO Manufacturing has the knowledge and specialized equipment to exceed your expectations. If you are considering a multi color screen printing project, please talk with us before prior to your order.  There are nuances that need to be discussed and agreed on prior to art approval for any 4 Color Process Screen Printing project.

If you are interested in a 4 Color Process Screen Printing project, please consider giving us a call (908) 806-8337 or email us.
