Applique

There are a lot of ways to express your creativity with garment decoration.  You can use colors, words, and subjects to convey your personality.  Your choice of decoration also impacts the overall look.  If you opt for screen printing, you can achieve crisp, bold graphics on garments.  If you go with embroidery you can get classic customization and personalized clothing.  Sublimation is great for photo-realistic or high definition images.  A major difference that manifests in these services is texture.  Texture can be a big part of a custom garment.  If you are looking to incorporate texture into your designs, you should consider applique.

Applique

Applique is a straight-forward way to decorate garments, but it can be quite effective.  For just one example, imagine a varsity jacket and how important it looks with its various patches.  It is a classic look that continues to be impressive in modern times.  You too can achieve that effect with applique.  There are two ways in which this fabric based decoration can be applied to a garment, with adhesive and heat or by stitching.  This usually comes with an adhesive on the back that lets you use heat to stick it on.

Alternatively, the fabric based design can be embroidered onto a garment.  Since the goal is texture, embroidery plus a large fabric design would be the ideal choice.  It is sturdy and durable so the tackle twill will last a long time.  Another benefit with using this method of decoration is that it can be cost effective for bigger designs.  It could get rather expensive if you wanted a full back embroidered design on many custom pieces.  to work around that problem, you can have large fabric based design that is stitched onto a garment for fractions of the cost.

Discharge Screen Printing

If you ever thought about or made a screen printed shirts then you know a little about the process of how they are made. There is more than one type of screen printing inks that you can use. There is a process called discharge screen printing. If you don’t know what this process is then have a seat and let me tell you about it.

Discharge screen printing is when you use a water based ink that gets soaked into the fabric of the shirt. In the actual ink there is a discharge agent that is mixed into it that will remove the dye of the shirt when it is printed. In other words it is a similar look as if you bleached a dark colored shirt. Now to add a color to the area that the shirt dye is removed, the discharge ink has to get a water based color added to the mixture.

Discharge Screen Printing

Discharge screen printing is a little cheaper than normal screen printing because of the type of ink that is used. It does not need to have an under base which is a layer of all the colors combined so that colors will look vibrant on the shirts, since the shirt is getting the dye removed of the area that there will be color. Also, these types of printing yields a softer feeling shirt, because you won’t be able to feel the ink like you do on normal screen printing.

If you love a screen printed shirt but don’t want some of the attributes that normal screen printing has then discharge screen printing is the way to go. The uniforms that we have created range from cross country all the way to lacrosse. We can individualize them with names and numbers. Most uniforms will be screen printed. We are sent the art that you choose or we can create it for. Our artist then prints film for the screens to be burned. We use those screens to then print the uniforms. The screen is placed over the jersey or uniform and ink is swiped across it. But uniforms aren’t the only thing we will create for sports teams. We love crafting game day apparel for them as well. What better way to show that you are part of the team then with clothing produced just for you. When you see those kids walking down the hallway, you know they are part of the team.
